Getting Up Early

I’ve always been an early riser, my mother used to wake us up at the crack of dawn even in the holidays. I remember my grandfather waking up early too, walking down to the village to get the early morning newspaper and back up the road by 6am. He’d boil the kettle, take my grandmother her first cup of tea. I don’t know why his wrist shook but it did and you would hear him coming up the stairs, cup and saucer rattling away. You would try and grab the tea before the whole thing shook so much it might just end up on the floor.

So I get up early every day too, even on the weekends. It drives Greg mad, he doesn’t like to be told what to do. But who can resist an early walk on the beach and a dip in the cold ocean?

Here we are, Sundays with Morrie.
